This scheme is suitable to skilled workers outside of Australia or temporary skilled residents currently employed within Australia. It is part of the Permanent Employer Sponsored Visa program.

The employers for RSMS are located in regional Australia (regional Australia doesn’t include the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong or Melbourne). This scheme is for Australian employers to have the chance to hire overseas highly skilled workers under the circumstance of talent shortage in local labor market.

Applicants need to get the nomination of employers through their own professional skills and sufficient work experience and then obtain Australian permanent residency directly.

RSMS is one of Australian skilled migration programs. It is also an employer sponsored program.

RSMS needs the nomination of employers and helps applicants become a permanent resident straightforward.


Employer must:

1. Pay a market salary rate;

2. Comply with Australian immigration and workplace relations laws;

3. Has no adverse information known about the business or any person associated with the business;

4. Nominate an applicant to fill a position that is specified by legislative instrument;

5. Offer a skilled position in the applicant's field that is full time and ongoing for at least two years;

6. Have a genuine need for a paid employee to fill a skilled position;

Applicant must:

1. Be younger than 50 years old;

2. Have at least competent English (unless you are exempt from this requirement);

3. Have a bachelor degree or above;

4. Have a positive valid skills assessment if a trade position is nominated;

5. Have a nominated position specified in legislative instrument;

6. Obtain the nomination of an employer located in regional Australia;
